The Bra Making Workshop is designed for experienced sewers who understand fabric and sewing terminology, who are keen to learn the skill of bra making. If you haven’t sewn a bra before, I suggest you buy a bra from an op-shop, or use an old bra, unpick it and familiarise yourself with the different pieces that make up the bra.
You will need a pattern and a kit. I recommend you buy them through Booby Traps.
Key concepts covered include:
- How to measure your bra size properly so to select the best pattern size
- Tracing out your pattern pieces and how to make minor adjustments for a better fitting bra
- Cutting out your fabric pieces and how to work with stretch fabrics
- Piecing it all together and sewing the bra
